Dr. Joseph Kirk grew up in Mattoon, Illinois where he graduated high school in 1997. After graduation he attended Lake Land College and earned his associated degree. He then decided to follow in his grandfather and father’s footsteps in joining the United States Navy where he served as a Hospital Corpsman. While serving his country for five (5) years, he earned the Fleet Marine Force Warfare Pin, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the National Service Defense Medal. Dr. Kirk insists that his comrades were very influential people and credits them for helping mold him into the professional he is today.
After serving in the US Navy, Dr. Kirk completed his Bachelor’s Science Degree from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville. He then attended Logan College of Chiropractic in Chesterfield, Missouri where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree, with a Bachelor Degree in Human Biology. While attending Logan College, he was a member of the Sports Council Club and the Motion Palpation Club where he gained experience in diagnosing and treating different sports injuries. Dr. Kirk’s internship lead him back to the military at Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois where he treated hundreds of active duty service men and women with a variety of conditions allowing them to return back to work and continue to serve our country.
As a child, Dr. Kirk participated in several sports including baseball, soccer and basketball in where he incurred random sports injuries. With a few treatments from his chiropractor he was always able to re-join his team quickly. It was these injuries and subsequent treatments that inspired Dr. Kirk to become a chiropractor.
Dr. Kirk is a resident of Effingham, Illinois, where he lives with his wife Jennifer, and three (3) beautiful daughters: Marah, Madison, and Macy. Dr. Kirk enjoys playing golf, softball and doing Crossfit in his free time. He’s also a volunteer coach for his daughter’s soccer and softball teams, and a member of Sacred Heart Church.
